Gears of war 2

     Gears of war is made by the game company 'epic' and is published by microsoft (works in synergy). It is a third person shooter and is rated 18. Their target audience is therefore over the age of 18 and is mainly attractive to males as it is quite a gory game. GOW (Gears of War) is an exclusive game, it is exclusive to xbox 360. As the game is exclusive to xbox it is good xbox's marketing as people will by an xbox so they can play gears of war. Big games like GOW are advertised every where, for example the interent, shops (games shop specifically), on the xbox dash board, adverts on TV and in the cinema. GOW is advertised alot because Epic work in synergy with microsoft and good advertisement of the game will help sales of the xbox 360.                                                                                                  



All the 'COG' are men, this gives them a USP (unique selling point), men will be more attracted to the game. As you can see its a very gory game, it reaches out to there target audience which is men.

Kinect

This is for the Xbox 360, kinect has made itself appealing to all age groups and sexes as the games that are available to play on it are all different, for example you can play family based games like sports or more gory fighting games that can appeal to the older generation or teenagers. Kinect is very much like the Nintendo Wii in the way that it is motion censored, but kinect does not require a motion controller like what is used with the Wii, Kinect have started technological convergence because they have raised the bar on Motion Censored gaming. On young and Rubi cams theory Kinect covers to groups of people, the first being the Main Streamer as they respond to big established brands and xbox is very well established, the main streamers also love family brands, kinect is a very good family experience. The Aspirer's are the second group in society that would buy Kinect, Aspirer's are very materialistic and are driven by other people perceptions rather than there own and something as big as Kinect made by xbox 360 (microsoft), Kinect will be in the media and the Aspirer will want it as their core need in life is status. Microsoft advertised Kinect in shops and on the internet through sites and social networking sites, they open up there advertisement so every one knows about it and each age group can see how it appeals to them, there is was/is alot of visual advertisement like bill boards, so even someone just driving past can see it.
